TWIC guide

TWIC Photo What to Expect at Enrollment

You do not bring a photo for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential. TSA takes your facial photo and fingerprints at the enrollment center, along with your identity documents.

What happens at TWIC enrollment

You can pre-enroll online, then visit an enrollment center to provide your documents, be fingerprinted, and have your photo taken. The photo on your card comes from that visit.

Because the photo is taken in person, there is nothing to print or upload beforehand.

Look your best for a five-year photo

A TWIC card lasts five years, and mariners’ credentials reuse the same image.

  • Wear a solid-colored shirt
  • Remove hats and sunglasses
  • Keep hair away from your face
