Diversity Visa photo guide
Every Diversity Visa (green card lottery) entry needs a digital photo for each person on the entry. The State Department disqualifies entries with photos that are old, edited, or the wrong format, so this is the one photo worth checking twice.
The DV program asks for a JPEG in a square aspect ratio, 600x600 pixels, and 240 KB or less. Each person listed on the entry, including your spouse and each eligible child, needs their own photo.
Do not reuse a photo from a previous year’s entry. The State Department treats reused or altered photos as grounds for disqualification.
Look at the file size shown on your download before uploading. If it is over 240 KB, the entry system will refuse it.
